PROPHET

PROPHET – 1) One who proclaims the will of God and/or who foretells the future, especially the coming and mission of Christ, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. ^{(Deut. 18:18; Acts 28:25.)}

 

2) (an appellation or Title of Jesus)  “The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; “ ^{Deut 18:15}

“I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.” ^{Deut 18:18}

“And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.” ^{Matt 21:11}

“And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:” ^{Luke 24:19}
