The Law and the Prophets: Preparation

The story of salvation continues as God leads His people, Israel, and prepares them for the coming of the promised Savior. Through Moses, God delivers the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, establishes His covenant with them, and gives them the Law to guide their life as His people. Through their journey into the Promised Land, the rise and fall of their kings, and the struggles of their nation, we see both the faithfulness of God and the repeated human need to return to Him.

God also speaks to His people through the Prophets, calling them to repentance, faithfulness, and hope. Their words reveal God’s judgment upon sin, His enduring mercy, and His promise of restoration. They also point forward to the coming of the Messiah, who will fulfill God’s saving purpose for Israel and all humanity.

The articles in this section explore the history of Israel, the giving of the Law, and the lives and teachings of the Prophets. Together, they help us understand how God prepared His people for the coming of Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of His promise of salvation.
