ANOINTED – 1)The anointing of a person with oil in the Scripture, in the Bible, in the Mosaic Law, in the practice of the Old Testament was a sign of consecration, of sanctification, of being set apart for the service of God, and so the use of anointing is in the Scripture.
2)(an appellation or Title of Jesus) “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,” Ps 2:2 The term christ,in Hebrew is messiah: mashiyach. And it literally means “the anointed one.” One who has been anointed.
