Blessing the Children

Many brought their children to Jesus Christ that He might touch them, lay His hands on them? and bless them. The disciples of Christ rebuked them thinking it was not worth having the children disturb the Master.

But when Jesus Christ saw it, He was indignant, called the disciples to Him, and said, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such is the Kingdom of Heaven. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child, shall not enter it.”

Taking the children in His arms, Jesus Christ laid His hands on them and blessed them.

From this we are given to understand that innocence, guilelessness, simplicity, and goodness of soul, which are traits mainly of children, lead men into the Kingdom of Heaven.
