Athlete in virtue, true warrior of Christ our God,
You fiercely fought the good fight against the passions during this earthly life and have been an example to your disciples by your spiritual labors in song, vigil, and fast.
Wherefore, the Holy Spirit took up His abode in you and operating there adorned you with radiant beauty:
O you who have boldness to approach the Holy Trinity.
Remember your flock gathered by your wisdom and never forget it,
Visiting your children, according to your promise, O holy Father Sergius.

O Saint, smitten with the love of Christ,
you followed Him without looking back,
and you hated all pleasures of the flesh and shone like the sun upon the land of your birth:
therefore Christ has enriched you with the gift of working wonders.
