In the Orthodox Church, the fullness of the church can be found in every single parish under a bishop. The parish's bishop with the parish is the Church.  This is a list our bishops from our founding in 1966 to today.

Ireney (Bekish) of New York (from our founding until 1977)His Beatitude the Most Reverend Metropolitan Ireney

His Beatitude the Most Reverend Metropolitan Ireney (Bekish) of New York was  the primate of the Russian-American Metropolia when our was formed. Under his leadership the central administration continued to mature and negotiations actively began with the Patriarch of Moscow to resolve the ill feelings that had developed since the Bolshevik Revolution, and which resolved into the granting of autocephaly to the Metropolia as the Orthodox Church in America.

His Beatitude, Metropolitan Theodosius (Lazor) of Washington, was the primate of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) from 1977 until 2002.

Peter (L'Huillier) of New York (from 1981until 2005)Most Reverend Peter

The Most Reverend Peter (L'Huillier) of New York (December 3, 1926 – November 19, 2007) was the Archbishop of New York and New Jersey in the Orthodox Church in America (OCA).

Herman (Swaiko) of Washington and New York ( from 2005 until 2008 as part of the former Washington and New York Diocese)Most Blessed Metropolitan Herman

His Beatitude, the Most Blessed Metropolitan Herman (Swaiko) of Washington and New York is the retired primate of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). He was elected Metropolitan on July 22, 2002, succeeding Metropolitan Theodosius (Lazor), and retired on September 4, 2008.

Jonah (Paffhausen) of Washington {from 2008 until 2009 as part of the former Washington and New York Diocese)Most Reverend Jonah

His Eminence, the Most Reverend Jonah (Paffhausen) of Washington was the primate of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) until the Holy Synod of Bishops requested and accepted His Eminence's resignation on July 7, 2012. He was elected as metropolitan on November 12, 2008, and was formally enthroned on December 28, 2008, in Washington, D.C.
